Hellenic Cables-A call to stop the leakage of copper and copper alloy scrap

Α strategic raw material for a resilient and sustainable Europe

The Position Paper for Secondary Raw Materials, co-signed by Cenergy Holdings, the parent company of Hellenic Cables and other European industry leaders, highlights the need to keep copper and copper alloy scrap within the EU. Growing exports to non-EU markets are creating supply-chain challenges, increasing costs, reducing competitiveness, and slowing Europe’s transition to a circular and low-carbon economy.

The paper calls for practical policy measures to secure access to secondary raw materials, strengthen Europe’s industrial base, enhance strategic autonomy and support the EU’s energy and climate goals.
