The contract included the design, manufacturing, installation, protection, termination works and testing of approximately 52 km of 150 kV AC three-core submarine cables.
In 2018, Hellenic Cables was awarded by IPTO the contract for the supply and installation of high voltage submarine cables for Phase B of the Cyclades interconnection, which consists of the interconnections of Paros-Naxos and Naxos-Mykonos to the National Transmission System.
Hellenic Cables designed and manufactured 52km of 150kV submarine cables, with XLPE insulation and an integrated 24 fiber optics cable. The cables were manufactured at Hellenic Cables’ state-of-the-art plant in Corinth, Greece, a world-class manufacturing facility for high and extra-high voltage submarine cables for offshore applications. Hellenic Cables’ contract also included the installation, protection, termination works and testing.
With the successful and on-schedule completion of Phase B of the Cyclades interconnection, Hellenic Cables continues to support IPTO’s long-term plan for the modernization of the National Transmission System with a view to safeguard energy security for the country and especially the island communities.
